Elon Musk learned computer programming using a manual and, by age 12, sold the code of a BASIC-based video game he created called Blastar to PC and Office Technology magazine for approximately $500. While staying in the office sleeping on the couch because he could not afford an apartment, he did the original coding behind Zip2, which was sold to Compaq for $307 million when he was 28. He is now one of the most successful people in the world.
