Located in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia, the Batu Caves tourist attraction consists of temples in a limestone cave on the hills. To prepare for the celebration, devotees would keep their body clean, pray and think of God regularly, follow a vegetarian diet or fast.\u00a0Kavadi bearers and devotees make the arduous climb on the centre part of the stairs while onlookers crowd the balustrades on the sides.<\/p><br \/><p>The Thaipusam festival is usually celebrated in late January or early February, nonetheless, the site is open to visitors daily.
