In Malaysia, Allergic rhinitis, asthma, eczema and food allergies are the most common allergies. The most common allergens are dust mite and cockroach, followed by seafood allergens, such as prawns and crabs. Some are also allergic to mold and pollens.
Eggs and cow’s milk are the most common food allergens affecting younger children in Malaysia. Food allergy caused by egg white protein and cow’s milk usually starts very early in life but generally outgrown by 2 to 3 years of age.
