How to Transit in Doha Hamad International Airport, Qatar for Connecting Flight

Navigating your way to a connecting flight at Hamad International Airport in Doha is a straightforward process.


After exiting your aircraft, follow the transfer signs to the security check. Head to the Transfer halls situated at concourse A, B, C, or D, to collect your boarding pass if you have not done so earlier.

Hamad International Airport operates as an integrated facility, allowing passengers to Arrive, Transfer, and Depart within the same terminal building.

Follow the signage, inquire at information desks, or utilize the airport map to easily find your way around.

Time Estimation and Walking Distance

The airport is a single terminal structure, comprising a central hall, and is connected to five concourses: A, B, C, D, and E. Walking from one end at concourse A to the opposite end of concourse E typically takes around 15 minutes.


Concourse C is the longest and biggest concourse. Go through Concourse C to reach Concourse D and E


At concourse C, there is an internal passenger train that operates within the terminal. You can walk or take the internal passenger train which is very modern and comfortable.

SINGLE PNR BOOKING

Your baggage will be checked-through. Usually all boarding passes will be issued.

After arrival, go straight to security check and you will then arrive at the Main (Central) Hall. Proceed to your Boarding Gate.


DIFFERENT PNR BOOKINGS

Your baggage will not be checked-through.

After arrival, instead of “Transfers”, head to “Baggage Claim”. 

*If you are unsure, get assistance from the Transfer Desk.

  • Go through the Immigration (4-finger, thumb, 3x facial biometric recognition scan)
  • Collect you baggage
  • Head back to “Departures” and check in your baggage to the onward flight
  • Go through Security check and Immigration again
  • You will then arrive at the Main (Central) Hall
  • Proceed to your Boarding Gate

  • Visit their transfer desks for assistance with your onward flight, including boarding passes, flight rescheduling, and general inquiries.
  • Confirm visa and immigration requirements beforehand to avoid delays.
  • Note that a transit visa is not necessary if you remain within the airport.

Prior to entering the passenger terminal, your hand baggage undergoes security screening for prohibited items. Refer to the Security & Customs page for detailed information. Exclusive lanes are available for First Class and Business Class passengers.

Points to Remember

  • Check with your airline, at the counter during departure if you are required to collect your checked-in baggage during the transfer, if you are unsure.
  • Be punctual for your onward flight, as the boarding gate closes 20 minutes before departure. 
  • Check the flight information monitors for the latest updates. 
  • Board your flight directly at the boarding gate, or there will be a bus at the gate to bring the passengers to the plane, depending on where your boarding gate is.

Many restaurants in Souq Waqif open 24 hours. Most retail stalls, shops close after 10 pm. It is very easy to get Uber ride, taxi even after midnight at Souq Waqif. So if your layover is at night, it is highly recommended to visit this amazing place.
